Stage spotlights are an industry-standard example of atmospheric lighting conditions to enhance your presence on stage. Producing a narrow beam and field angle, their output has a defined edge to prevent light spilling into surrounding areas allowing highlighting of specific objects or people. Some spotlights feature fresnel lenses, which concentrates light beams into a more powerful output, making them great for large stages.

Wash lights are the opposite solution to stage spotlights as they produce a wide wall of light, with soft edges that allows it to disperse into the surroundings. This is perfect for background lighting when placed at the back of the stage. They are almost always supplied with a hanging bracket to permanently or temporarily install them on truss systems or on T-bar stands. By hanging them above the stage and audience, you can flood the entire room in a vibrant wash of light.

Programmed stage lighting shows

Laser light shows are an excellent addition for concerts, with programmable graphics and effects available on our higher-end BeamZ professional devices. The lasers in this range feature both DMX and ILDA, with DB-25 connections. Operating one laser on its own is best achieved with ILDA, due to its better signal strength and use of analog modulation, resulting in greater overall consistency and performance. ILDA controls laser shows in a digital format on computer software, allowing you to create graphics such as texts, images and patterns.

DMX control is better for running large lighting setups consisting of multiple lasers or other band lights, such as moving heads. These lighting fixtures feature rotational mechanisms that allow movement in almost all directions for flawless room and audience scanning. With lights constantly moving around the stage and the crowd, you can create a high-energy display to ensure an enjoyable live performance.

Moving head light types include: wash, spot and beam, all of which are used for different purposes. Beam lights have an extremely narrow-angle, similar to that of lasers, and is mostly used for complimenting the use of other effects. The beam visibility can be enhanced with the use of a front projection screen, such as smoke or haze, in order to create an impressive and atmospheric performance with these band lights.
