How does a snow machine work?
The machine produces a very light and fluffy ‘fake snow' foam that is close to the look and feel of real snow. Depending on the machine you order, the output density of snowflakes that the device can produce will differ so be sure to pick a unit that suits your needs. All it takes is a power source and some snow fluid poured into the reservoir and after a short time the fan and nylon strip will begin to spread artificial snow in the direction of which is pointed.
Once you have situated your snow effect where you feel is appropriate, you can use the included remote control to activate. A few of the BeamZ units have a green light system, so when your machine is ready to go it will go green to give you the go-ahead. This remote is wired and connected to the machine itself so you can make use of the function from a short distance away.
The snow effect produced will land about ten metres ahead of your fake snow machine and will fall just like real snow to the floor. Technically these machines are actually specialised foam machines which are designed to defuse a jet of water-based, fast-drying foam. These systems may sound very messy but clean up is very easy as after a while all of the ‘fake snow' will evaporate naturally.
The machines are versatile when it comes to snow fluid as they all tend to be very slight variations on a festive theme. If you’re after an extended snowfall or perhaps you want to cover your back garden with the snow we suggest grabbing a 5 litre snow fluid when you order. We have a variety of bundles that contain snow fluids but you'll find that most types of snow fluid are compatible with our snow systems.
Is it real snow?
This type of machine produces a fast-drying foam substance from a water-based solution, it is not real snow, but it works out to be as close enough as can be possible.
Will fake snow make the floor slippery?
Fake snow evaporates after a while leaving no mess, although as most of the snow will fall to the ground this could mean some surfaces may become slippery when wet. All of the fluid that we sell uses a special solution designed to evaporate quickly, thus helping to minimise any risk of slipping. During use, it's good practice to monitor the overall conditions of your snow output and periodically limit use where appropriate.
You should always take care while using any kind of special effects machine and begin with a dry floor, especially so with this kind of system, as it is designed to imitate real snowfall.
Are snow machines noisy?
All of our snow effects tend to be at least a little noisy mainly due to the high power fan system design. They sound a similar volume to a small vacuum cleaner, however this is not a huge issue if you accompany your snow effect with music. Most will find that their machine will not make a loud enough noise to be noticed at a performance or other event.
How can I keep my system clean?
Machines of this nature have a coating that protects from rusting and other wear and tear that will happen as they are utilised. You should wipe down the machine after usage anyway to maintain this coating.
Occasionally, the nylon and fan section will have remnants of the last operation within. This is easily swabbed out with a lightly dampened cloth, by directing the system in the direction of the wind you’ll stop snow blowing back at you.
Benefits of a BeamZ Snow Machine
Our range of BeamZ Snow Machines are one of our most popular special effects as they are cost-effective and produce an accurate effect. Depending on your usage, there are a variety of different machines that offer a fluid capacity to best suit your specific requirements. The snow from these machines does look realistic however it must be remembered that is not the case, with the fake snow evaporating after a short while leaving no mess.
BeamZ Snow systems are built with powerful fans inside for optimal performance and are very efficient when it comes to fluid usage. Many other lesser machines online will go through fluid very quickly essentially forcing continuous fluid orders, this isn’t the case with BeamZ effects. Sadly, fake snow doesn’t have the structural integrity as real snow which means it’s unlikely you’ll be able to have a snowball fight with this snow.
The built-in handle promotes the proper placement of the snow unit, to get the best results it’s always a great call to situate the unit up high. This step will allow the classic snowfall effect to be experienced fully if the weather isn’t raining or overly windy. You could easily direct your system from an upstairs room, to then fall in front of the living room window for example.
