Disco lasers are extremely user friendly with their plug-and-play design, making it as simple as you could hope when setting it up, at home or at an event. The smallest laser in this range just requires mains power to be provided, and then it's ready to go. The larger ones will need mains power as well as the included key and interlock attached to them, which is still simple to set up.

These party light lasers feature high-quality RGB LEDs with a variety of gobos, making impressive patterns on walls, ceilings and floors. Although the patterns they create are impressive, lasers look the best when paired with a smoke machine or haze machine. By utilising a smoke or haze machine with your laser, you will see the actual beams that they produce throughout the room, making for a much better display.

Most of our disco lasers also come with a remote that allows you to change the mode that they are set to. This includes the auto-shows built into the machines, as well as changing between standalone and sound-to-light mode with adjustable sensitivity, which all of these lasers feature.

We also offer weatherproof outdoor lasers in this category that can be installed in your garden to create an effect on the front of your house or trees in your garden. This range of outdoor lasers features rechargeable battery power as well as an IR remote control, allowing for cable-free use.

Disco Laser Lights For Indoor And Outdoor Parties

Operated in a plug and play format, the disco laser lights we have on offer are instantly usable in any indoor environment. By just plugging the unit into any mains power socket it will be powered for use in disco halls, clubs or even wedding venues.

To ensure your safety when powering the lights, there is a set of keys with an attached cable that is required to be slotted into the corresponding key switch and interlock. This inclusion is mainly designed to prevent the usage of the laser when it is left unattended. It will also prevent any unexpected lasers from pointing in your eyes the moment that power is supplied to the device during set-up.

Rechargeable batteries are featured on some of our outdoor disco lasers for cable-free usage. By plugging in the device to charge for a short amount of time, you can receive an even longer performance time in exchange. The BeamZ Metis laser, for example, only needs around four to five hours of charge for twelve hours of operating time.

If you need to place the laser somewhere indoors where a power socket isn’t easily reachable, the wireless option of these party light lasers gives you the freedom to manoeuvre them however you see fit. However, these battery-powered lasers (the Metis, Arche and Firefly) are used optimally outdoors. Using them cable-free means you won’t have a cluttered garden space and yet you will still receive thousands of focused, colourful points - a great addition of atmosphere for garden parties and outdoor bars.

Place them into your garden securely and subtly as they are fitted onto a ground spike. Inserted into the ground makes sure the lasers are stable during use and tucked away into positions where their output is optimised and most efficient.

How Can I Use My Party Light Laser?

When using the specifically designed outdoor laser lights, you can cover your outside space with colourful dots and pinpoints of red, green and/or blue. In your garden, for instance, you could point these at your home or at the bushes and trees for interesting ambient lighting.

On the other hand, the indoor purpose lights can run on automatic presets or shows that can be customised by you. Some lights, the Surtur II being one of them, has pre-programmed light displays for you to initiate at the touch of a button. With no need to learn how to program lasers or DMX, you can still get impressive shows that will accompany your party or event.

Similarly, there is sound activation on some lasers, where the lights can: change colour, strobe, rotate and blink in response to sound picked up by the in-built microphone. Using this feature will guarantee an especially unique performance from the disco laser as it will have a constantly alternating output with every song and the changes in their beat/rhythm.

Disco Laser Effects For Parties

Most of the lasers that we have on offer have internal gobos that have between eight and twelve different patterns/shapes. Projecting these different shapes can add an extra element of atmosphere and professionalism to the party. They can be shown in different colours alongside shaking and rotating movements that will complement the energy of your discos.

Using the included remotes or LCD display screens on the lights can give you control over the timing and speed functions. On automatic mode, the speed of the different settings can be changed such as the fading effect or the colour changing, which will set the energy of the function. The remote controls also provide distanced control over the lights so that you have no need to make manual adjustments using the buttons on the unit itself, you can make remote changes whenever you need.

Incorporate greater presence of the lasers by partnering the output of them with smoke and haze machines. Instead of only seeing the projected shapes from a gobo or the dots of the laser, you will also be able to see beams of light shining through the clouds of smoke. This professional effect, which is used in most live performances and parties that incorporate lasers, is only attainable via the pairing of lasers and smoke machines.

How do I set up my lights?

The Arche, Firefly and Metis outdoor lasers are IP65 rated making them weatherproof and especially perfect to be used in your garden. They can withstand rain and so suit being used in any weather conditions during your garden parties.

Hanging brackets are fitted or included with almost all out disco lasers so that they can be easily mounted to truss, T-bar and lighting stands for both short-term and permanent usage. As they are also rotatable, some can even serve as stands so that they can be placed on the ground and angled upwards to project the effect to the ceiling and across the room (not recommended for outdoor lasers).

Frequently Asked Questions

Are laser disco lights safe?

Laser disco lights are safe when used correctly and in compliance with safety standards and guidelines. These lights are designed to enhance entertainment experiences, projecting patterns and effects that can transform any space into a dynamic environment. However, it's important to ensure that the laser lights comply with local regulations and safety standards, which often classify lasers based on their power output and potential risk.

Direct exposure to the beams, especially from more powerful lasers, should be avoided to prevent eye damage. Proper installation and use, such as positioning the lights to avoid direct eye contact and following the manufacturer's safety instructions, are key to safely incorporating laser disco lights into any setup.

Are party lasers bad for your eyes?

Party lasers, especially those of higher power, can be harmful to the eyes if directly exposed. The concentrated beams of light produced by lasers can cause temporary or even permanent damage to the retina if looked into directly or if the beam is reflected into the eyes at close range. To mitigate risks, it's crucial to use party lasers responsibly by ensuring they are installed properly, well above eye level, and not pointed directly at individuals. Adhering to safety guidelines and using lasers that comply with local regulations and standards for safe power levels also helps prevent potential eye damage. When used correctly, party lasers can be enjoyed safely without posing a significant risk to eye health.

How do I position a disco laser light?

Positioning a disco laser light effectively involves considering the layout of the room, the desired visual effects, and safety considerations. Ideally, mount the laser light above head height to prevent direct eye exposure to the beams. Aim the laser towards the dance floor or open area, away from directly pointing at people's faces or reflective surfaces that might redirect the light into someone's eyes. Adjust the angle and direction to maximise the coverage and impact of the light patterns, ensuring they complement the space without compromising safety. Using mounting brackets or stands can provide flexibility in positioning, allowing you to fine-tune the placement for optimal effect and safety during your event.

Why can’t I see the laser beams?

If you're struggling to see the laser beams from your laser light, the absence of fog or haze could be the reason. Laser beams are more visible when there's a medium to reflect off, creating the vivid streaks of light in the air that enhance the visual effect. Using a smoke or haze machine introduces fine particles into the air, which the laser beams can reflect off, making them distinctly visible as they cut through the space. This effect is essential for maximising the impact of laser lights in creating an atmospheric and immersive experience at events or parties.

How do laser party lights work?

Laser party lights work by emitting highly focused beams of light, which are then manipulated to create various effects and patterns. These lights use laser diodes to generate beams that are much narrower and more concentrated than those produced by traditional lighting methods. The core mechanism involves directing these laser beams through a series of optical components, such as diffraction gratings, mirrors, and lenses, which split, reflect, or focus the light into intricate patterns or animated graphics. Some laser lights are capable of displaying multiple colours and can be synchronised with music to create dynamic, beat-matched light shows.

Can I use a laser light for house parties?

Yes, you can use laser lights for house parties to add a dynamic and exciting visual element to your event. Laser lights can enhance the atmosphere by projecting vibrant patterns and colours that move with the music. When choosing a laser light for your house party, consider factors like the size of the room, the desired effects, and safety features. Ensure the laser light is positioned away from eye level to avoid direct exposure to the beams.

Do laser lights get hot?

Laser lights, like many electronic devices, can generate heat during operation, especially when used for extended periods. The amount of heat produced typically depends on the power of the laser, its design, and how efficiently it dissipates heat. Modern laser lights are often designed with cooling systems, such as fans or heat sinks, to manage heat buildup and prevent overheating. While they do get warm, these measures help maintain a safe operating temperature.

Can laser party lights be used outside?

Yes, laser party lights can be used outside to enhance outdoor events with dynamic visual effects. However, ensure they're weather-protected or use weather-resistant models to safeguard against moisture and temperature extremes. Be mindful of pointing lasers away from people's eyes and avoid directing them into the sky to prevent interference with aircraft. Also, consider the ambient light levels, as laser lights are most vivid in darker settings.
