A PA Amplifier Mixer offers all the functions of a professional multi-channel mixer, with 4 or 8 channels of balanced microphone inputs, each with its own EQ, level adjust and hi and low impedance input choice to suit different microphone types. These will be complemented by stereo auxiliary inputs, direct record outputs, and larger units will feature digital reverb and echo effects and further EQ adjustment on the output. Some also have built-in USB/SD MP3 playback.

Buy Powered PA Mixers

Uniquely to PA amplifier mixers, almost all of these inputs will be on the front face of the unit for easy access, with the rear panel usually having just the power input and speaker outputs. These are mounted in either a 2U or 4U height, standard rack size 19-inch traditional wooden enclosure which is either carpet or vinyl covered. It's a classic design, which is hardwearing and functional making the PA amplifier mixer one of the most useful pieces of equipment available.

Onboard amplification will be anything from 50W per channel up to 200W, which is plenty for standard PA mixer amp usage. Bigger power amps are only really needed when using large speaker rigs intended for mobile DJs and party events, where the source is often bass-heavy music and a large output SPL is required, in which case you would look at a starter or professional amplifier mixer to suit your needs. Speaker connections will be either 6.35mm (quarter inch) jack plug, or the heavier duty NL2 socket type, purely for ease of connection and long life.

Mixer amps have been utilised in the live music circuit for a good while at this stage, the inner mechanisms of this type of amp have improved greatly in the last decade. Nowadays, they are at a stage where the technology featured within boasts more ways to expand and enhance your final sound output than ever before. This amplifier mixer is now one of the most commonly used pieces of sound equipment in the professional working DJ world.

PA Mixer Amps

Connecting your passive speakers to an amp of this style can help you to explore the potential of your speaker capabilities. The music you have chosen can be shaped to your preference with the turnable dials, some systems allow you to increase and decrease the amount of bass, mid and treble frequencies. This customisation of low, middle and high frequencies helps keep your sound output consistent, especially if you are a mobile DJ moving from venue to venue.

Powered PA mixers are a contemporary solution to most passive speaker issues, being a unit to draw power from and as mentioned the refinement of sound. Sound experts would agree that being able to freely control your frequencies is a great idea during performances, sometimes the genre or style of the song could use slight refinement. If you make a playlist that includes greatly varying styles of music, it is wise to find a good level for the room you are in that can easily get the best sound from all of your chosen music.
