Danny's Biography
I have been working in the sound and light industry for over 25 years, gaining experience both in retail as a sales assistant and on the road as a sales rep. During this time I have gained a wealth of experience and built many relationships both with end users and businesses professionally and also personally.
I have learnt and taken away something from each encounter along the way and I have enjoyed every step along the road, a road which has led me to ElectroMarket’s door, who I have been with now for 15 years.
I never envisaged a career in retail but it was my early love for DJing as a teen which first set me on this road. A close friend of mine at the time worked for the then ‘Disco Supplies’ in Chadwell Heath which was later rebranded as ‘DJ Empire’, giving me my first opportunity in this industry.
We shared a love for music, drum & bass garage, house dance, you name it. Initially, we started as bedroom DJs, then began a progression to pirate radio DJs, then club DJs and lastly mobile DJs. When the chance to join Disco Supplies came about, it set me on a path which I’m still very much enjoying travelling along today.
The original founders of Electromarket ‘Destiny Entertainments’ were customers of mine at DJ Empire, then just school boys, DJing at weekends. With heady ideas of retailing online, they were very entrepreneurial and full of enthusiasm. I even tried to employ them when they left school but the then directors of DJ Empire at the time did not see this as the future of retailing, how very wrong they were.
Jas and Kam knew otherwise, so for me, it really did feel like destiny when they first approached me about working for them. I hope to have many more happy years in this industry which continues to support me and my family.
