Jake's Biography
My background in audio stems mainly from being a bedroom guitarist, which opened several avenues into learning about music production and recording, as well as researching gear and equipment (both old and new). Further to this, I began to develop a serious interest in editing due to my brief time as a film student.
For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by all the cogs that churn the machine of all modern media, hence I made the decision to pursue film studies. This somehow evolved into creating my own podcast, where I spent weeks learning what mic to use, how to use them, and how to edit audio to a *listenable* degree. As well, it developed into editing YouTube videos, my own short film, and even a music video.
The pandemic ended my employment as an escape room host, and I ended up working for Electromarket as a Warehouse operative. After a year of learning the basics of what we sold, I moved into the marketing department as a product/content writer.
Writing was a true passion of mine, especially following my time writing original songs and the screenplay for my short film. It was here that my product knowledge truly grew and my interest in audio and lighting was kicked into overdrive.
Following a year of writing for the Electromarket website, I moved into the sales department. This has been a real turning point in my career, despite never being something I envisioned. Sharing the knowledge I’ve gained with people who are in the same place I was not long ago is a great feeling, and it’s allowed me to take that knowledge home to put into my own creative ventures.
