Lasers have been used professionally for music and show productions since the 70s, with bands such as Pink Floyd and ELO using them to great effect in live shows to create custom objects and patterns that covered large areas. Around 30 years ago, laser lights saw legislation come in in countries across the world to make their usage near or above a live audience illegal for safety reasons as they had got out of hand, but 30 years forward and advances in the technology, manufacturing and safety awareness have allowed these wonderful laser devices to be on sale to the general public, requiring no special licenses or training.

How Does A Laser Work?

The term LASER is an acronym meaning Light Amplification (by) Stimulated Emission (of) Radiation. While a standard lightbulb radiates light in all directions, Lasers focus this light into one single monochromatic point using a small degree of photon radiation. This is then manipulated into a perfectly straight laser beam that can be used in a multitude of different ways.
