USB mics are ideal if you don't want to be worrying about too much equipment in your setup. They allow you to plug your microphone directly into your PC for ease of use without needing to first be plugged into an audio interface or mixer. They don't require any extra software to be installed, you can use them instantly on your DAW or audio program.

Some of our USB microphones come with shock mounts. These are small tripod-style desktop stands that the mic is mounted onto, and an advantage of these is that they are used to dampen any unwanted vibrations and rattling which is perfect for recording purposes to get the best audio possible.

As well as desktop-style shock mounts, some of our USB mics come with boom-arm style stands. These can be clamped to the edge of a desk and this provides a secure and stable means of keeping your mic in one place with the bonus of adjustability. These are widely used for podcasting purposes, but can also be used effectively to record singing and general speech.

Most of the microphones in this category also come with a pop shield or pop filter. The purpose of these is to reduce air hitting the microphone itself. Condenser mics are highly sensitive, so are susceptible to distortion with louder sounds. The pop shield reduces distortion by removing the unwanted harsher sounds hitting it.
