Microphone pop filters, or shields, are used to prevent unwanted background noises and popping sounds in your recordings. Popping sounds can occur in a recording when speech includes plosives, like 'B' and 'P' sounds. The pop shield acts as a barrier for such sounds, which reduces the amount of wind the microphone picks up, resulting in a clearer audio recording.

Clips are used to mount microphones on stands. They have a screwing thread on the bottom that connects to the top of a mic stand, and the clip itself holds the microphone in place. They are most commonly used with dynamic microphones for live use, but they can be a great addition to a home studio for vocal recording purposes.
