Buy Smoke Machine Fluid

We stock a great deal of smoke machine liquids as they are an essential repeat purchase for many of our customers. With multiple choices such as ecologically friendly Green fluid and our high-density Pink among many other types including Haze. Play it safe and plan ahead by ordering some refills before a party or event to avoid running out during it.

We recommend our customers order 5 litre bottles of fog machine fluid, this is so frequent users can save on money and plastic waste at the same time. The smoke machine liquids available are very cost-efficient and each is colour coded so you can tell which fluid is which at a glance. Open the reservoir on your smoke machine and fill up, after a quick warmup period the unit is ready to use whichever way you like.

Smoke fluid is suitable for smoke machines and haze machines and will help improve the atmosphere at Halloween celebrations and multiple other party setups. Smoke machine fluid helps to highlight many of our other disco lighting systems, greatly enhancing the end-use of both items. Much like your mobile phone, your machine won't work for much longer without extra juice so you must remember to stock up on liquid to avoid running out.

Browse our selection of fluids today and stock up your reserves for future parties to come, one litre will last you the length of one party if used sparingly. Our fluid scents are a great addition also to mask any smoke machine odours that may occur in certain environments. Scents range from coconut to tropical, strawberry to mint, Frankincense to vanilla and even an energy drink scent named Energiser!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is smoke/fog machine fluid?

A smoke machine fluid, also known as fog juice, is a type of liquid that is used to create artificial fog or smoke effects in theatrical productions, concerts, haunted houses and other events.

The fluid is typically made of a mixture of water and glycol or glycerin, which is heated to create a fine mist or fog when introduced to a smoke machine. The type of fluid used can affect the density and duration of the smoke or fog produced.

What different types of artificial smoke/fog are there?

There are also different formulations of smoke machine fluid available for different types of machines and applications, such as quick-dissipating fog and long-lasting haze, for example. It's important to choose the appropriate type of fluid for your specific machine to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Is fog fluid/juice the same as smoke fluid?

Fog juice is the same as smoke fluid, since it is made out of the same ingredients. The difference between the two is that fog juice will usually have a higher density than smoke fluid - creating a thicker fog effect that stays longer in the air of your venue or room.

Can you add dye to smoke machines?

Smoke fluid cannot be dyed, so therefore, coloured smoke cannot be emitted from the machines. This is because such a large amount of dye is required to colour the smoke, so if it is added to the fluid and put into the machine, it would instantly block the machine’s heat exchanger.

How long does one litre of smoke/fog fluid last for?

The duration of smoke fluid depends on several factors, including the type of smoke machine, the output settings, and the size of the space where the smoke is being used.

As a general guideline, one litre of smoke fluid can last anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours, depending on the above factors. For example, a small, low-output smoke machine using a standard smoke fluid won’t use up as much fluid or power, while a larger, high-output, more powerful machine will go through fluid quicker and use more power.

What liquid do you put in a smoke machine?

Smoke machine fluid is specifically designed to be used in smoke machines and is available in different formulations depending on the type of machine and the desired effect.

The most common ingredients in smoke machine fluid include distilled water and a glycol-based solution, such as propylene glycol or glycerin. These ingredients are mixed in varying proportions to create different types of fog effects, such as thick or thin, long-lasting or quick-dissipating, and so on.

How do you look after your smoke machine?

It is important to look after your smoke and/or fog machines, since you would want to keep them in the best condition and for them to last as long as possible.

You should always make sure to use the appropriate fluid and clean the machine regularly; this ensures that the machine doesn’t get damaged during use. The machine should also be stored in a safe place where it cannot be damaged in any way. This means that it should be put somewhere out of the way and dry where no harmful substances can reach it.

Finally, you should look out for any ‘wear and tear’ on the machine and make sure to fix or replace the machine if need be.

Can you use fog juice in a smoke machine?

Although fog fluid can be used in a smoke machine, it is not recommended, as it usually has a higher density than smoke fluid. The higher density means that the fluid is thicker, and could therefore clog the pump of a smoke machine.

Can you have coloured artificial fog?

Similarly to smoke machines, fog machines cannot accept dyed fog juice, since the amount of dye needed to change the colour of the fog would be too much for the fog machine to handle. It is more efficient and safer for the machine to just use regular fog juice.

That being said, you can buy coloured smoke/fog fluid, which makes it more visible in the fluid tank, making it easier to know when the machine needs a refill. This does not change the colour of the smoke emitted from the machine, though.

Is artificial smoke bad to inhale?

The chemicals in artificial smoke are generally considered safe when used as directed. That being said, excessive inhalation of artificial smoke can pose health risks, be it in a small space or a poorly ventilated room/area. Depending on what is in the smoke fluid, excessive inhalation of artificial smoke can cause symptoms like irritation to the respiratory system, eyes and skin.

To minimise the risk of health problems associated with artificial smoke, it is important to follow proper safety protocols, including ensuring adequate ventilation and limiting exposure time.
