The VPS082 Active PA speakers bundle has everything you need to get started right away. Vonyx 8" Bluetooth PA speakers have a built-in USB/SD mp3 player as well as a line input for a CD player, mixer or dj controller. A Bluetooth connection enables wireless music streaming.
Active DJ speaker packages provide a convenient option for anyone looking for a plug-and-play sound system for house parties and DJ work. The VPS082 set includes a microphone with adjustable echo effect that’s perfect for karaoke and announcements, with second microphone input that allows for duets.

What is the length of cable supplied to link the speakers?

The manufacturer states the included cable is 5m long. They use an NL2 plug, we have many lengths of NL2 cables available here - https://electromarket.co.uk/cables/speaker-cables/ready-made

I've just purchased this kit from Amazon and I'm finding that the microphones do not work both at the same time.
Only when I switch one off will the other one work, and vice versa.
Is this correct please? If so I will need to return the order as I do need a system where both mics work together.

Yes, but only if you're connecting from the output of another system to the input of this system. The speakers do not have an output connection that would allow you to connect additional speakers

Do both speakers need to be connected with a wire, or does the second speaker connect to PA system by wirelessly?

The second speaker is connected to the first one using the included Jack cable. The second speaker is passive, so must be connected via cable to receive power
