Smoke Machine Fluid

Smoke machine fluid is specifically designed to be used in smoke machines and is available in different formulations depending on the type of machine and the desired effect.

The most common ingredients in smoke machine fluid include distilled water and a glycol-based solution, such as propylene glycol or glycerin. These ingredients are mixed in varying proportions to create different types of fog effects, such as thick or thin, long-lasting or quick-dissipating, and so on.

It is important to look after your smoke and/or fog machines, since you would want to keep them in the best condition and for them to last as long as possible.

You should always make sure to use the appropriate fluid and clean the machine regularly; this ensures that the machine doesn’t get damaged during use. The machine should also be stored in a safe place where it cannot be damaged in any way. This means that it should be put somewhere out of the way and dry where no harmful substances can reach it.

Finally, you should look out for any ‘wear and tear’ on the machine and make sure to fix or replace the machine if need be.

Although fog fluid can be used in a smoke machine, it is not recommended, as it usually has a higher density than smoke fluid. The higher density means that the fluid is thicker, and could therefore clog the pump of a smoke machine.

Similarly to smoke machines, fog machines cannot accept dyed fog juice, since the amount of dye needed to change the colour of the fog would be too much for the fog machine to handle. It is more efficient and safer for the machine to just use regular fog juice.

That being said, you can buy coloured smoke/fog fluid, which makes it more visible in the fluid tank, making it easier to know when the machine needs a refill. This does not change the colour of the smoke emitted from the machine, though.

The chemicals in artificial smoke are generally considered safe when used as directed. That being said, excessive inhalation of artificial smoke can pose health risks, be it in a small space or a poorly ventilated room/area. Depending on what is in the smoke fluid, excessive inhalation of artificial smoke can cause symptoms like irritation to the respiratory system, eyes and skin.

To minimise the risk of health problems associated with artificial smoke, it is important to follow proper safety protocols, including ensuring adequate ventilation and limiting exposure time.
