BeamZ SUSHI-DS DMX Lighting Interface - PC USB Control Solution

The BeamZ SUSHI-DS DMX Lighting Interface is a compact and straightforward solution for beginners aiming to convert their Windows or Mac computers into a versatile lighting control console. Utilising a user-friendly USB lighting controller setup, it offers reliable control and management of lighting rigs, ideal for newcomers in lighting design, venues, mobile events, or small performance spaces.

Detailed Features and Benefits

Flexible DMX Software Integration: Included software options—Sunlite Suite 2004, Daslight Virtual Controller 1, Lumidesk lite, and Easy Stand Alone 1—offer users different software environments depending on project needs or personal preference. This multiple-software compatibility broadens your creative possibilities and workflow comfort, granting users easy adaptability and intuitive control.

Expandable Channel Capacity up to 512: Standard configuration starts with 128 DMX channels for computer-based control, but conveniently upgrades directly from the dmxsoft.com webshop to 512 channels. This allows the interface to grow alongside your skills and lighting complexity, providing lasting usefulness and adaptability for evolving projects.

Standalone Scene Storage: With built-in memory that accommodates up to 1,266 steps across 8 custom scenes with 12 channels, the SUSHI-DS enables independent playback without continuous computer tethering. Ideal for installation scenarios or repeated settings, it simplifies recurring lighting arrangements effectively—saving both time and effort onsite.

Scan Library Editor Included: The included Scan Library Editor tool assists users in shaping personal, unique fixtures that precisely match their hardware. Users can effortlessly set custom fixture profiles, ensuring accurate compatibility and reliability across various lighting units, substantially improving performance and confidence when managing small to medium setups.

Broad OS Compatibility and Simple Connectivity: Windows compatible out-of-the-box, optional availability for Mac OS expands accessibility to broader user groups. Additionally, its streamlined USB interface and widely used 3-pin XLR DMX output ensure straightforward integration into nearly any standard lighting equipment or setup scenario.

Applications and Ideal Users

Designed specifically for entry-level operators, mobile entertainers, DJs, and small venues, the BeamZ SUSHI-DS DMX lighting interface fits users needing intuitive lighting software interaction without complex learning curves. Ideal scenarios include small club performances, themed events, weddings, presentations, and basic stage productions where flexible light control is valuable yet extensive professional equipment is unnecessary.

Installation technicians, lighting hobbyists, schools, and community centres will also find the SUSHI-DS highly practical. Its standalone memory ensures consistent delivery of predetermined lighting scenarios, whether used as constant ambient lighting, simple stage illumination, or subtle transitions—and its beginner-friendly operation significantly lowers the time taken to become proficient.

Summary

The BeamZ SUSHI-DS DMX software interface presents an accessible, expandable solution suitable for newcomers and smaller-setup users. Its focused feature-set—including flexible DMX software options, expandable DMX channels, and standalone memory—positions it appealingly for simple to moderately complex lighting use-cases, with easy fixture customisation and quick software integrations ensuring users can operate efficiently even with limited prior experience. Compact dimensions (78 x 18mm) and a practical USB-powered connection allow effortless integration into users' existing setups without additional power units, providing a practical plug-in solution for immediate usability.

Product Questions
Does the software included work with all beamz lights?
Question by: Adam Scott on 2 Sep 2019, 18:20
The software that comes included is not made by Beamz, there are fixture finder websites that will have DMX profiles available to download, it is also possible to use alternate brand fixtures providing you know the channels and capabilities match up
