Is this item straight forward to use. I currently have a Kam that I just don't understand and can't get to do much. Alternatively does it have good instructions?

Any of these controllers only have functional instructions, what the controls and buttons do, how to store settings etc. None will explain the DMX language or control methods, you will need to research this online/youtube to help understand it properly, otherwise no controller will ever make sense, especially if you wish to control multiple lights and create shows

The DMX512 is fairly easy to use though, and has a simple button layout that's easy to learn the functions of
