The HD1200 from Amate is an extremely high-quality installation amplifier that works as a slave amp when used with another amplifier in a pre-existing sound system. This slave amplifier has a 19-inch, or 2U, rack-mountable design to install it in a racking system for convenient positioning.

With a class AB design, this power amplifier has an extremely high performance and handles the incoming and outgoing power in an efficient manner. The class AB design implements power rails that require a low voltage in order to achieve a high output, making this amp one of the best of its class for the ratio of power output versus energy consumed.

On the rear of this installation amplifier are Speakon and binding post connections that provide a secure connection to the speakers connected to the amp. The Speakon terminals are the most secure, as they use locking mechanisms to ensure the cables don’t accidentally get pulled.

This slave amplifier can be operated in bridged mode usin

g the parallel switch on the rear of the unit. By using bridged mode, you can combine the power of the left and right channels to be sent out in one high-powered mono signal, ideal if you are using a high-powered passive speaker like a subwoofer or large full-range speaker.

There are clip limiters on this amp that lower the sound level when it reaches a point of distortion, effectively keeping your speakers safe from blowing and the amplifier safe from overworking. There are also other protection features, such as temperature control, overcurrent, DC output and anti-short circuits on the outputs, making this amplifier extremely durable for heavy use in a permanent installation.
