DJ lighting kits include anything you'll need for your events. For smaller events, our Partybar range will be great as they feature 4 lights with different effects that are rotatable, all mounted on an included tripod stand. They also include a remote so you can adjust the settings such as auto-show presets, sound-to-light mode, speed, dimming and strobe. These are great for discos and mobile DJ sets at smaller events, and their plug-and-play design allows for easy setup.

For larger events in halls and clubs, our moving head lights or showbars will be better suited. They feature more powerful lighting displays with DMX control or pre-programmed auto shows. The high output LEDs have a stronger range of effect, and the multitude of settings makes for an easy-access variety of shows which will be suited to any event you do.

As with all lighting displays in any sized room, lights will work best with a smoke or haze machine. This is due to the smoke itself highlighting the beams that the lights are producing, so you can visibly see the rays as well as the patterns created on the surfaces in the room. Some of our packages come included with a smoke machine to achieve this effect, and we will always recommend that smoke or haze is used to create the most impressive display possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are DJ light packages?

DJ light packages provide DJs with a complete lighting setup that is ready to take to events, for a light show that will stun guests and compliment your musical routine. These packages include everything a DJ could need for their lighting system, from wash lights and par cans, to smoke machines and moving heads.

Which DJ light is best?

There isn’t a single ‘best’ DJ light, since this depends on what you are looking for to complete your setup. This could also depend on the DJ and their set, since different lights can be more helpful for different types of music.

LED lights and strobe lights are amongst the most common and popular DJ lights, since they match lots of DJ sets with their energy-efficient and high-energy effects.

Do DJs bring their own lighting with them?

Some DJs rely on the venue’s lighting setup if they don’t have the budget for their own, or if they can’t take their own setup with them. However, it is recommended that DJs have their own lighting setup, since they can keep a consistent style synonymous with them wherever they go.

What are moving head lights?

Moving head lights are a type of lighting fixture commonly used in concerts, stage productions, and other live events. They are called "moving head" lights because the head of the fixture can move and change direction, allowing for a wide range of lighting effects.

Moving head lights consist of a lamp or LED light source mounted on a motorised pan-and-tilt head. The head can be moved in two axes, allowing for precise control over the direction and angle of the light beam. This allows for a wide range of lighting effects, including sweeping movements, crossfades, and complex patterns.

What are par can lights?

Par can lights, also known as parabolic aluminized reflector (PAR) lights, are a type of lighting fixture commonly used in stage lighting, concerts, and other live events. They are called "par cans" because of their shape, which is cylindrical with a flat front.

What lights are included in DJ light packages?

There are many different DJ lights that can be very effective when paired with a DJ’s musical routine. Lights that are included in our DJ light packages include the likes of moving head lights, moonflower lights, par cans and laser lights. Also included are smoke machines, which can massively improve the effects of the lighting.

What lights do I need to DJ?

The lights you need to DJ depends on your DJ set, and the genre(s) of music that you play. For example, if you are playing high-energy house music in your set, strobe lights would be a good choice because of its rapid flashing effect that can be synchronised with the music.

Why do DJs have lighting?

A good lighting setup can really enhance a DJ routine. It can set the mood and atmosphere that can compliment the music; for example, soft and warm lighting can create a more intimate vibe, whereas bright and vibrant lighting can create a high-energy ambience for dance music.

Lighting can also be synchronised with the music, which allows total creativity with a DJ’s routine. Strobe lights can be used for this, since their flashing mechanic allows them to flash on the beat of a song.

What are moonflower lights?

Moonflower lights are a type of lighting fixture that creates colourful and dynamic lighting effects. They are called "moonflower" lights because their pattern of light is similar to the shape of a flower, with several petals radiating from a central point.

Moonflower lights use LEDs or halogen lamps to project a beam of light onto a rotating mirror that reflects the light in different directions. The mirror rotates at different speeds, causing the beam of light to create a variety of patterns and shapes. Some moonflower lights also include colour filters or gobos to create even more intricate patterns and designs.

What are laser lights?

Laser lights are intense beams of light that are produced by a device called a laser. The word "laser" is an acronym for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation".

In a laser, light is produced by exciting atoms or molecules to a higher energy state, and then allowing them to release that energy as a burst of light. The resulting light is coherent, meaning that all the waves are in phase with each other and have the same frequency and polarisation.
