A lot of our kitchen ceiling speaker systems come with moisture-resistant, or IP rated speakers. These are great in a kitchen scenario, as when cooking there will sometimes be some moisture being produced. Having IP rated speakers means that you don't have the worry of damage being caused to the speakers, and you can enjoy your favourite music while cooking.

For ease of use, some of our kitchen ceiling speaker Bluetooth systems are provided in an active/passive set. By having one active speaker, it can be plugged directly into mains power without the need for a separate amplifier, and then the passive speaker in the set is connected to the active unit with speaker cable. When these sets are turned on, they will automatically be in Bluetooth mode and ready to pair with your smart device.

As well as active/passive sets, several of our kitchen ceiling speakers come with a wall amplifier panel. These are installed in a cutout in the wall, and the speakers wired to it with speaker cable. These sets are professional-looking, and with the wall panel, you can turn the speakers on and off, adjust the volume level, and in some cases change modes between Bluetooth or line-in connections, giving you the option to connect a variety of devices.

For any advice you may need in regards to what system will work best for your kitchen and your requirements, please give us a call or send over an email and our sales team will be happy to guide you in the right direction.

Kitchen speaker systems and their uses

Kitchen ceiling speaker systems are designed to provide high-quality sound while cooking, entertaining or relaxing in the kitchen. These systems feature speakers that are mounted on the ceiling, allowing them to blend seamlessly with the kitchen's decor. They can be connected to a variety of audio sources, including smartphones, laptops, and televisions, providing homeowners with a versatile entertainment experience.

The majority of ceiling kitchen speaker systems feature amplifiers that power the ceiling speakers, making it easy to install and use. The amplifiers are usually very compact in design, reducing the clutter in the kitchen while delivering high-quality sound without taking up too much space.

The speakers in a kitchen sound system are moisture-resistant, making them ideal for use in the kitchen. They are constructed with materials that can withstand exposure to humidity and moisture, ensuring their durability in a kitchen environment. This means that homeowners can enjoy their favourite music, audiobooks or podcasts while cooking, without worrying about damaging the speakers.

Kitchen speaker systems come in a variety of sizes, making it easy for homeowners to choose a system that fits their kitchen's design. They can be flush-mounted, which makes them blend in seamlessly with the ceiling without detracting from the aesthetics of the room.

One of the advantages of a kitchen ceiling speaker setup is its versatility. It can be used for a variety of purposes, including background music while cooking, streaming a podcast while doing the dishes or watching the news while having breakfast. With its easy-to-use design and high-quality sound, a ceiling speaker system is a perfect addition to any kitchen.

Wireless audio streaming

Most of the sound systems in this category have Bluetooth connectivity, making it easy to pair a smartphone, tablet, or laptop in order to stream audio wirelessly. This is extremely useful in the kitchen, as it is quick and easy to pair your phone and start listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks while you cook or eat.

As well as Bluetooth, there are some kitchen sound systems that offer WiFi technology, allowing you to connect them to your home network for more intricate audio control. You can use a dedicated app on a smart device to control the system from anywhere in the house, as well as directly access an array of internet radio stations.

When using WiFi ceiling speakers in your kitchen, you can create a multi-room setup using WiFi with other speaker sets installed throughout your home. This gives you the ability to control audio in any room of the house using a smart device connected to the same network, providing full control over the sound in your house.

A common question when it comes to ceiling speakers is - can I get completely wireless speakers? Unfortunately, this is not possible, as all ceiling speakers require power from either a dedicated power amplifier, or directly from mains power, depending on the design of the speakers. That being said, wireless audio streaming is certainly possible, so you can play high-quality audio content without cables getting in your way.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many kitchen ceiling speakers should be used?

This depends on the size of the room mostly. If the room is small then one pair should be suitable as they are capable of powerful, immersive stereo output that will make cooking and clearing more enjoyable. If the room is bigger, then anywhere upwards of 2 pairs scattered across the ceiling will be best.

What do kitchen ceiling speakers connect to?

These speakers will need to be connected to an amplifier to receive audio playback. The amps that we supply with our speaker packages can have wireless Bluetooth or WiFi capabilities allowing you to stream any music you want to listen to.

How do I get the best sound out of my kitchen ceiling speakers?

Most speakers are two-way, featuring a midbass driver and a high-frequency tweeter, offering full-range sound with impressive bass response. Using them as a pair is best as you can get stereo output for an immersive listening experience. Additionally, most amplifier’s and streaming services have EQ controls to adjust the tone output to your liking.

Can I use kitchen ceiling speakers with Bluetooth?

Yes, most kitchen ceiling speaker systems come with an amplifier that has Bluetooth technology, meaning that you can stream audio wirelessly from a paired smart device. This is fantastic in the kitchen, as you can quickly pair your phone to play your favourite music, audiobook, or podcast while you prepare food or relax.

How do I choose a kitchen ceiling speaker setup?

When choosing a kitchen ceiling speaker setup, there are a few factors to consider. Firstly, consider the size of your kitchen and how many speakers you will need to cover the space adequately. Another factor to consider is the style of speaker - choose an option that fits in with your kitchen's aesthetic. Additionally, consider the compatibility with your audio sources, such as smartphones or laptops.

Are kitchen ceiling speakers passive or active?

Due to the fact that speakers for the kitchen need to be moisture proof or have some sort of IP rating, our range are mostly passive and therefore needs to be connected to an amplifier in order to be used.

How do you measure for kitchen ceiling speakers?

To install these speakers in the ceiling of your kitchen, you will need to measure the cutout diameter (width) of the speaker’s grille/face. You will also need to consider the depth of the speaker so that it will fit flush in and against the surface.

Can I connect kitchen ceiling speakers for TV?

With certain amplifiers, you may be able to connect them to your TV or laptop through a phono-RCA or AUX connection so that you can listen along to videos, films and programmes through the speakers. However, the speakers themselves won’t connect directly to the TV.

How are kitchen sound systems installed?

Kitchen sound systems with ceiling speakers are relatively simple to install. Firstly, you will need to decide where the speakers will be mounted, as well as where you will store the amplifier (if applicable). Next, cut holes in the ceiling using the cutting template included with your speakers, and then run cables through the ceiling back to where the amplifier is located.

Once all cables have been run correctly, attach the cables to the appropriate connectors on the speakers and back to the powered output on the amplifier. The speakers will then be suspended from the ceiling cutouts using their built-in mounting systems, and the setup is ready to be used.

Do kitchen speaker systems have good bass?

Yes, kitchen speaker systems provide good bass reproduction that is perfect for casual music listening when preparing food or relaxing. If you want high volume levels with powerful bass output, ceiling speakers may not be the best choice for you, as they are not designed to be used at high volumes.
