Bookshelf speaker systems are compact in design, allowing you to place them on an elevated surface such as a bookshelf or desk. While being small in design, they will have a punchy output and are suitable for small to medium-sized rooms. They can be utilised for listening to music, or with video entertainment connected to a PC or TV.

In our bookshelf speaker kits, we have included a suitable amplifier for each pair of speakers to ensure they sound as good as possible. Matching an amplifier to passive speakers can be a long process as you have to make sure the specifications match, but you don't need to worry in this case as each product will be paired together and ready to go.

Some of these kits will also include wired microphones, meaning these systems are multi-purposeful as they can be used for karaoke as well as general listening use. Even if you are not planning on using a microphone, it is handy having this input on the amplifier as it leaves this option open for the future should you need it.

An added bonus that a lot of these kits have is a remote controller. If you are planning on using them with a PC or TV for entertainment purposes rather than music, the remote allows you to adjust the volume without moving from where you are sitting. You also have the option to pause, mute, skip tracks, and power the amplifier on and off, making them accessible and easy-to-use kits.

How can I use bookshelf speaker systems?

Bookshelf speaker systems provide high-quality audio for home use and are great to use to enjoy your favourite music. The speakers themselves are HiFi, also known as high-fidelity speakers. This means that they have an incredible sound reproduction that sounds as accurate to the original mix of a song or audio that the sound engineer intended.

All of our bookshelf systems have a small and compact build, which means they don't take up much space. Although small, they have a respectable output, and this makes them great to use for audio from your PC. They can be placed on your desk or any flat surface to be easily concealed, and they have a modern finish which is great for home aesthetics.

Many of the amplifiers included in our bookshelf speaker systems feature Bluetooth. For casual listening purposes in bedrooms and living rooms, this is a great feature as you can connect your smartphone wirelessly and quickly for audio playback.

To connect the speakers to the amplifier, you would simply connect the included speaker cable from the left and right outputs of the amplifier and then into the respective connections on the back of each speaker. Doing this provides stereo audio which is ideal for an accurate and immersive audio experience.

Bookshelf speaker system features

Our wide range of bookshelf speaker systems has a variety of features that you can utilise for home use. One of these is microphone inputs on the many amplifiers we offer in the packages. With a microphone input, you can plug your own wired microphones into the amplifier and then use the speaker system for karaoke use. This is great for family gatherings and get-togethers.

Many of the amplifiers within our bookshelf speaker systems have remote controls included. If the speakers and amp are located out of arm's reach from you, the remote allows you to adjust the volume, skip songs and pause the music when you please for an enjoyable user experience.

The majority of our bookshelf speaker systems have EQ control so you can adjust the sound to your liking. For example, if you are listening to music that's a little bit too high in frequencies for your preferences, you can simply turn down the treble on the amplifier. Similarly, if you would like a bit more bass in certain songs, you can adjust the bass control up so the music sounds exactly how you want it to.

Best uses for bookshelf speaker systems

Bookshelf speaker systems can be used effectively in a home setting in a variety of ways. The most common use for bookshelf is for music purposes.

Bookshelf devices can be paired with record players and CD players for high-quality audio and a nice finish. As the bookshelf systems are compact in design, they can sit nicely next to your record or CD player on your desktop or cabinets. Vinyl is popular among passionate music lovers, so when paired with HiFi bookshelf speakers, you can be sure that you are hearing exactly how the record is meant to sound.

Another way that you can utilise bookshelf speakers at home is with a TV setup. Instead of using the TV's built-in speakers, using a pair of stereo bookshelf speakers will add an extra layer of dimension to your films and shows. With the amplifiers within our packages, you can connect them to your TV between the audio output on your TV and the line input on the amplifier.

For the best audio possible when listening to music through our bookshelf speakers, you would want to have the speakers around a metre in front of you at ear height and both speakers facing towards you. Having the speakers positioned like this means that you will be hearing the audio the most accurately without any unwanted reverb that will be produced in the room they're in.
