These include wall-mounted speakers, column speakers and horn speakers, all of which are better suited to different installations and requirements. Horn speakers have a high volume output without requiring much power, and they are best suited for higher frequency sounds, so are best for announcement purposes in a swimming pool setting as an example.

Wall-mounted speakers provide a solid all-around frequency response with high volume output, so you generally won't need a large number of them to reach your required volume output. These are great for outdoor settings like seating areas in bars and restaurants.

All of the speakers in this category are IP rated, which means that they are water and dirt resistant. They can't be fully submerged in water but will be completely fine with general splashes, rain or spaces with high moisture levels.

To power all of the speakers in an audio system, you will need an amplifier. We have paired a suitable amplifier with the number of speakers in each kit, providing an efficient and reliable complete audio system. By wiring all of the speakers back to a single amplifier, you have all the controls in one place, which is great for large installations.

Our outdoor speaker systems come with the necessary speaker cable by the reel, and the speakers themselves are available in different colour options such as black or white to suit your preferences.

They are great for background music, and as well as traditional wall-mounted speakers, column speakers are also available which have a longer throw, suitable for larger outdoor areas.

Next, there are horn speaker systems, which are perfect for large open areas like sports grounds and funfairs. These speakers deliver a powerful sound output and an extended throw, making them ideal for public address purposes.

Garden speaker systems are also available, which provide a discreet look, blending in effortlessly with foliage, plants, and pots. These speakers are ideal for playing low-level background music and are perfect for areas with greenery and gardens, for instance, theme parks.

As well as differences in speaker design, the available features differ between systems. Our systems typically come with a mixer amplifier which includes a range of useful features and inputs, for instance, some include Bluetooth connectivity and multi-zone capabilities.

Constructed to withstand harsh weather conditions

Our weatherproof outdoor PA systems are designed to endure extreme weather conditions, and the speakers have a weatherproof IP rating that protects against moisture and dust. This guarantees their long-lasting use outdoors, even in unfavourable weather like rain and snow. However, please note that the amplifier is not weather resistant and will need to be installed indoors.

You can view the IP rating of each speaker in its product description. The exact rating varies between models to meet different usage requirements. For instance, some speakers have an IP66 rating, which means they are completely dust-proof and can endure direct high-pressure water jets. Whereas, other speakers have a lower IP45 rating, which means they are protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and low-pressure water jets.

However, please bear in mind that outdoor speakers are not meant to be fully submerged in water, despite their weather-resistant rating. Make sure you always follow the manufacturer's guidelines and carefully select where to install speakers so that they are protected.

What is the process for installing an outdoor speaker system?

The exact installation process varies between outdoor speaker systems and differs depending on the speaker design. Most commercial outdoor sound systems are suitable for 100V line installations, allowing multiple speakers to be connected to a single amplifier, ideal for large settings.

Please note, the amplifier will need to be installed indoors as it is not weatherproof. You will then be able to connect audio sources to the amplifier, such as a mixer and microphone. The available inputs will vary between amplifiers.
