Within our wide range of commercial outdoor speakers are wall-mounted speakers. These have wall brackets included, so they can be easily installed on a wall in any outdoor setting such as an outdoor seating area in pubs and restaurants. For outdoor use, wall-mounted styles are ideal, as they have a wide sound dispersion and high audio output.

All of the speakers in this category are IP rated, or weatherproof. This means that they are protected from dust and dirt damage, and also protected from rain and splashes. They cannot be fully submerged in water, but for general outdoor spaces where there is only rain or moisture, they are perfect. The weatherproof design of the speakers makes them suitable for many different uses, such as installation in swimming pools or on decks outside.

A lot of our commercial outdoor speakers can be run on 100V line. This essentially means that you can connect many of them to a single amplifier without worrying about power capability and restriction. 100V line speakers are usually daisy-chained between each other, allowing the connection of multiple speakers from one output, ideal for installations where a larger number of speakers is required.

We offer our commercial outdoor speakers in black or white designs depending on your preference. These are both neutral colours so will blend in nicely with any surface that you install them against.

What types of commercial outdoor speakers are available?

There are discreet garden speakers, which are perfect for areas of greenery and gardens. These speakers are designed to be inconspicuous and can be partially concealed amidst foliage, plants, and pots, ensuring they blend seamlessly. They are ideal for playing low-level background music.

Alternatively, for patio and terrace areas, there are outdoor wall-mounted speakers. These speakers are commonly found in pubs and bars and can achieve higher volume levels. They can be mounted on various surfaces and typically come with a mounting bracket. There are both traditional wall-mounted speakers and column speakers which offer a longer throw, making them suitable for larger outdoor areas.

For expansive outdoor spaces such as sports grounds, and playgrounds, there are horn speakers. These speakers deliver a powerful sound output and an extended throw, making them ideal for vast open areas. They are frequently used for public address purposes due to their capabilities.

In addition to the speaker design, the available features also vary. Most outdoor speakers have a passive design so need to connect to a suitable amplifier for power. Many mixer amplifiers provide a range of useful features, including Bluetooth connectivity and multi-zone capabilities.

The IP rating of individual speakers can be seen by looking at the product description. It's important to note that the IP rating does vary among different speaker models to suit different requirements. For example, some models have an IP66 rating, which means the speaker is completely dust-tight and can withstand direct high-pressure water jets. While other models have an IP45 rating, meaning the speaker is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm, such as screws, and can withstand low-pressure water jets.

Please be aware, that despite their weather-resistant rating, outside speakers are not designed to be fully submerged in water. Therefore, it's important to follow the manufacturer's guidance, and carefully consider the placement of the speakers to prevent any damage.

How do you install commercial outdoor speakers?

The installation process for outdoor loudspeakers differs depending on their type. The majority of commercial outdoor speakers are designed for 100V line installations, which allows multiple speakers to be connected to a single amplifier, perfect for large setups.

Begin by positioning your speakers in the ideal place. This will vary depending on the type of speaker. Garden speakers are designed to be placed discreetly within flower beds and foliage. Whereas wall-mounted attach securely to a wall or flat surface, using the provided mounting brackets. Often horn speakers also include a mounting bracket, allowing them to easily attach to stands.

Most weatherproof speakers have a passive design, so will next need to be connected to a suitable amplifier. Keep in mind that the amplifier itself should be installed indoors, as it is not weatherproof. Audio equipment and sources, such as a microphone, mixer and CD players, then be connected to the amplifier, depending on the available inputs. Alternatively, if the speaker has an active design, it should be directly connected to a main power supply, and audio sources can usually be connected directly to the speaker.
