Bluetooth is a staple in modern audio technology thanks to its ease of use and reliable audio quality. Having Bluetooth means that you can connect easily to the speaker from your smart device for audio playback. The wireless connectivity means that you don't need audio cables running to the speaker from your devices, and is extremely simple to set up.

Several of our Single Bluetooth PA Speakers feature battery power. You can use these while they are plugged into mains power, or you can charge them and then use them completely wirelessly without the need for a power or audio cable. Having battery power on the speaker also makes it great for busking, and our battery-powered Bluetooth speakers have long battery life and reliability for outdoor use.

Following on from this, any of our battery-powered Single Bluetooth PA Speakers will come with one or more wireless microphones. All the microphones need are two AA batteries to be inserted, and they can then be turned on and connect automatically to the speaker without the need for any cables. This is a great feature for karaoke and busking use, or also for announcement needs in places of worship.

For ease of transport, a lot of our Bluetooth speakers have retractable suitcase-style handles and wheels. Although the speakers are lightweight, the wheels and handle make for easy portability for your comfort.

What are they?

Single Bluetooth PA speakers are portable sound systems that use Bluetooth technology to stream audio from a variety of sources such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other compatible devices.

PA stands for ‘public address’ which means that these speakers are designed to deliver loud and clear audio to a large audience, making them ideal for outdoor events, parties, concerts, conferences, and other gatherings where a powerful and versatile sound system is needed.

Single Bluetooth PA speakers can feature a built-in amplifier, a rechargeable battery, and a variety of input options which can include Bluetooth, USB, AUX, and microphone inputs. They can also come with a range of features such as EQ controls and LED lights.

They also feature a microphone input (sometimes microphones are included in the kit too), which allows the user to talk into the speaker. Another common feature that goes along with this is the ‘talkover’ feature. This quietens the music/audio playing from the speaker whenever the user talks into the microphone, making the user’s voice able to be heard more clearly.

Where can Bluetooth PA speakers be used?

Single Bluetooth PA speakers work by using Bluetooth technology to wirelessly connect to a compatible device such as smartphones, tablets or laptops. They are mainly designed for public address (hence its name), which means that the speaker has the ability to project the user’s voice, should a microphone be plugged into the relevant mic input.

Wireless PA speakers are highly versatile and can be used in a variety of settings. Their portability, wireless connectivity, and built-in amplifier make them ideal for a wide range of applications, such as outdoor events, public address, live musical performances, presentations, fitness classes and even karaoke.

Outdoor events are something that single Bluetooth PA speakers are well-suited to, mainly because of their ability to let a big audience be able to hear your voice from far away. These speakers are also good for home outdoor events, since they allow the user to connect their smartphone, tablet or laptop to the speaker and play music from there too; they are versatile and easy-to-use speakers.

Another situation where Bluetooth PA speakers can be useful is during presentations. If you need to give a presentation in a small to medium-sized conference room, a Bluetooth PA speaker can help you amplify your voice and ensure that everyone in the room can hear you clearly. This is especially important when you are presenting to a large group of people or if the room has poor acoustics.

Bluetooth PA speakers are also commonly used in fitness classes such as yoga or aerobics, where instructors need to be heard over the music. The speakers can be easily moved around the room, and their wireless connectivity means that you don't have to worry about tripping over cords or wires during your workout.

What are the benefits of using single Bluetooth PA speakers?

Single Bluetooth PA speakers are a popular choice for people looking for a versatile audio solution. They offer several advantages over larger, more complex sound systems, including portability, wireless connectivity, ease of use, versatility, and power and sound quality.

One of the most significant advantages of single Bluetooth PA speakers is their portability. They are lightweight and compact, making them easy to move from one location to another. Some models of Bluetooth PA speakers feature handles and/or wheels, which make them much easier to transport from place to place.

Bluetooth connectivity is another obvious but key advantage of wireless PA speakers. With this feature, users can easily stream music from their smartphones, tablets, or other devices without any cables or wires. This eliminates the need for complicated setup procedures and makes it easy to play music from a variety of sources.

Single Bluetooth PA speakers are also designed to be easy to use, with simple controls and interfaces. This makes them a good choice for people who are not technically inclined or who don't want to spend a lot of time setting up their audio equipment.

Additionally, Bluetooth active speakers offer a high degree of versatility. They often include a variety of inputs and outputs, such as USB inputs, SD card slots, and auxiliary inputs, which allow users to connect a wide range of audio sources. This makes them suitable for a variety of applications, including parties, events, presentations, and more.

What are the different types of single Bluetooth PA speakers?

One type of single Bluetooth PA speakers are portable Bluetooth PA systems. Portable Bluetooth PA speakers are the same as their regular counterparts in terms of how they work and what they do. The difference between the two is the fact that portable PA speakers include handles and/or wheels, which make it much easier for the user to take the speakers from place to place. These speakers still also include a variety of inputs like their counterparts, including XLR, RCA, or 1/4-inch jacks, and these inputs allow for connection to various audio sources, such as microphones, instruments, or audio players.

Single Bluetooth party PA speakers are yet another example of a different type of Bluetooth active speaker. Single Bluetooth party PA speakers are a type of PA speaker designed to provide high-quality audio for parties and other events. They are typically larger and more powerful than standard Bluetooth speakers, and they often feature built-in lights and other special effects to enhance a party atmosphere.

These speakers are usually designed to be operated by a single person, and they often include easy-to-use controls and interfaces. Bluetooth connectivity allows users to easily stream music from their smartphones, tablets, or other devices, without the need for any cables or wires.

In addition to Bluetooth connectivity, many single Bluetooth party PA speakers also offer additional connectivity options, such as USB inputs, SD card slots, and auxiliary inputs, so that users can connect a wide range of audio sources.

Most Bluetooth PA speakers include a microphone input, with some even coming with a microphone alongside this. This is an important aspect of a PA speaker, since this is its function and what it is designed to do.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a PA speaker?

A PA speaker (public address speaker) is a speaker that is designed to produce clear and high-quality sound over a large area. These speakers are commonly used in public address systems, such as at concerts, sports events, rallies, and in other settings where a large number of people need to hear the same message or sound.

What is the best PA speaker?

The best PA speaker for you depends on where you are going to be using the speaker, how many people you are going to be playing/speaking to and how much money you have to work with.

If you are going to be using the speaker in a big room like a hall, for example, you would need it to be bigger and more powerful, whereas in a smaller room, there is no need for the same size of speaker. The amount of people who you are playing/talking to matters too. A big group of people need to hear the audio and your voice, therefore a bigger and more powerful speaker would be required.

Do Bluetooth speakers need an amplifier?

All Bluetooth speakers are active speakers, which means that they have an in-built amplifier, eliminating the need for an external one. Bluetooth speakers therefore don’t need a separate amplifier, as they can work in a standalone manner with no additional equipment required.

What are the different types of Bluetooth PA speakers?

Portable Bluetooth PA systems are a type of single Bluetooth PA speaker that includes handles and/or wheels, making them easy to move around. While they function similarly to regular PA speakers, their portability sets them apart.

Another type of Bluetooth PA speaker is the single Bluetooth party PA speaker. These speakers are designed to deliver high-quality audio for events and gatherings and are typically more robust and larger than traditional Bluetooth speakers, with added features like built-in lighting and special effects to create a lively party atmosphere.

How do you look after your Bluetooth PA speaker?

It is very important to look after your Bluetooth PA speaker, otherwise it will get damaged and will not last for as long.

One way to preserve your speaker is by cleaning it regularly. It is easy for dust and dirt to build up quickly on your speaker(s), so cleaning your speaker with a dry cloth is important. Other ways to preserve your speaker’s health is to store it in a safe place, ensure that it isn’t exposed to water or other liquids, and to avoid overloading the speaker by playing music at excessively high volumes for extended periods.

What is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a means of wireless technology that can exchange data over short distances. It can create a secure wireless connection between devices such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, headphones, speakers and other electronic devices.

Is a PA speaker the same as a normal speaker?

PA speakers are not like ‘normal’ speakers. Normal speakers are purely designed to play music/audio through it, via wireless (Bluetooth) or wired connection to audio sources.

On the other hand, PA speakers can play music/audio like normal speakers, but they can also project audio from a microphone, with most PA speakers being able to quieten down the already playing music/audio so that the speaker’s voice can be heard - this is known as ‘ducking’ or ‘talkover’.

What are the advantages of a Bluetooth PA speaker?

Bluetooth PA speakers offer plenty of pros and can really tick a lot of boxes for many people.

They are portable, compact and lightweight, which makes them easy to transport and set up in different locations. Additionally, they offer great versatility with their Bluetooth connectivity option.

Do you need a microphone for PA speakers?

Although it is not absolutely essential to have a microphone for your PA speaker(s), many people like to have a microphone with their PA speaker(s), as this gets the most out of them.

Most active PA speakers have microphone inputs (with passive PA speakers having an input through external amplifiers), with some PA speakers even coming with microphones for the user.

Do speakers get better with age?

In general, speakers do not get better with age - it is quite the opposite. Most speakers actually get worse the longer they are used, since they will begin to degrade due to wear and tear and environmental factors. That being said, with the proper care and operation, Bluetooth PA speakers can last for years with no loss of sound quality.
